A closeup of the face of a Culpeo, clearly showing its vibrissae, or whiskers. Vibrissae are specialized hairs that grow around the nostrils or other parts of the face in most mammals. They offer an advantage to animals that do not always have sight to rely on to navigate, or to find food, or when the usefulness of nontactile senses is limited. Photo credit: Whaldener Endo

[edit] About me
I'm an arctic wolf furry.
I've been a Wikipedian since May 16, 2003, and a sysop since August 19 2003, although I actually did my first (anonymous) edits in 2001 already (here's one of my old edits).
These days, I'm generally not very active anymore, although I will often fix typos, grammar, formatting and similar things. I've done a couple of contributions to Wiktionary as well (mostly Icelandic words), but I'm not really active there, either.
Feel free to talk to me, or send me an email!
The problem with Wikipedia is that it only works in practice. In theory, it can't possibly work.
I think the above quote sums up Wikipedia *really* well. :) Cave Sangerem...

[edit] Bragging
[edit] Articles I started
For anyone interested, here's a list of articles for which I wrote the initial version (not counting pure redirects, shortcuts, templates, moved pages, temporary pages and pages that I created in the process of breaking up existing pages, but including stubs, disambiguation pages, and pages that contained only nonsense or a redirect before my first edit, as well as pages that I started while not logged in); new articles appear at the beginning of the list. The total number of articles I started is 383, last I counted, but it's been quite a while since then.

[edit] Other stuff
(probably only of interest to me, but I want to keep links handy)
User:Schneelocke/Bring Wikipedia up to par with Schnee's encyclopedia lists articles that are in my own encyclopedia but missing from Wikipedia.Pretty much abandoned. User:Schneelocke/Classical composers lists classical composers (from the middle ages to modern times) that don't have a Wikipedia entry but should.
User:Schneelocke/German athletes participating in the 2004 Summer Olympics lists all German athletes that participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics. I'd ultimately like for every athlete who ever participated in any Olympics to have at least a stub entry on Wikipedia.
User:Schneelocke/German comedians just that. German standup comedians etc. that don't have a Wikipedia entry but should have one.
 User:Schneelocke/Iceland missing Icelandrelated articles
User:Schneelocke/Nazis and related people a list of Nazis and people related to Nazism that don't have a Wikipedia article yet. Those who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it, so we'd better make sure that people *will* remember what these people did...
 User:Schneelocke/Tmp Scratchpad for temporary stuff.
User:Schneelocke/Tmp/Isotopes of Helium Scratchpad for proposed Phase II of Wikipedia:WikiProject Elements.
 User:Schneelocke/Tmp/Axioms (Mathematical) axioms.
