Greetings, fellow Wikipedians!

[edit] Wikipedia bio

I, Pharos, am a Wikipedian who has been active since September 2004.

My first article was U Thant Island, and I founded and have tried to be active in WikiProject New York City (having faltered somewhat on that latter count).

I became an administrator in March 2005, and in that capacity have mostly been involved in Main Page maintenance.

[edit] Present activities

I have just returned to Wikipedia after a significant absence. I found something of my previous editing frustrated through a lack of direction and a spreading-oneself-too-thin, and hereby apologize for the several half-completed projects I left in my wake. I trust that my return shall see a more fruitful effort.

As a first project, I will again revive my erstwhile sound initiative in the form of Wikipedia:Sound of the day. If you would like to help, please leve a message at Wikipedia talk:Sound of the day. Thanks.

The wonders of the phonograph are evoked in this early form of audio advertising, recorded by Len Spencer.

This is a temporary userpage, omitting some gracious stuff like barnstars which I will restore when I feel I have re-earned them. Watch this space!
